In Writing Charlotte Aimes I wrote about the challenges of writing a crime fiction for my tweenaged daughter, while wrestling with some of the themes facing the newly-disrupted publishing industry.

Software, e-reading and publishing platforms have come a hella LONG way since 2011, but some of the challenges remain, regarding copyright, piracy, the value of content, and more.

And the end result, after all the wrestling? The first draft of my novel, Charlotte Aimes, which went on to be longlisted for the Bath Children’s Novel Award in 2013. Woop!
