LIBBY O’LOGHLIN

Libby is a cross-genre author, entrepreneur and community builder who is able to distil broad-ranging topics into considered and inspirational talks that tap into large life themes — what it is to be human, and how we can orient ourselves to a meaningful life during times of great change on the planet.

Among her many behind-the-scenes achievements, Libby was Co-Founder, on the Board of Directors and Head of Strategic Communications at ReCarbonX AG, an eco-footprint product tracking and reporting system for large scale manufacturing. She was a founding contributor to the Decarbonista Project, and co-author (with Renée LaPlante) of Decarbonista: A Refreshing Guide to Climate Savvy Living.

Libby co-founded and served for a decade on the boards of two Swiss Verein (non profit) orgs: The Powerhouse for Professional Women in Zürich and The Woolf literary hub, where she was Co-Creative Director of The Woolf Quarterly online literary journal (serving the English-language writing community in Switzerland and Europe). Along the way, she also co-founded and led workshops for Zürich’s successful WriteCon annual writing events, which ran from 2009-2019.

A prize-winning short story writer, Libby’s debut novel for young adults, Charlotte Aimes, was longlisted for the 2015 Bath Children’s Novel Award. She has taught screenwriting at university level and was co-author of geo-political thriller novel The Expansion, which was voted Book of the Year in 2107 by massive global forum The Online Bookclub.

She has edited and mentored hundreds of writers at all stages of their writing journey, and, in a coaching capacity, has developed and delivered poetry, prose and writing programs for people in recovery in a private clinic environment.

Libby grew up, lived and has worked in numerous different cultural contexts, including in Australia, Malaysia, the UK, the USA and now Switzerland.
